Andrew attended Sussex University and began his career in 1982 as a floor broker on LIFFE (the London International Financial Futures Exchange). He joined Citigroup as a bond trader in 1985 and in 1989 he left the City to trade his own account.

Charles Romilly

Charles Romilly co-founded ECU Futures (The ECU Group's former sister company) in 1988 and met Andrew Robertson in 1989, when Andrew became a self-directed trading client of the company. As a result of Andrew's trading performance they launched the ECU Onega Fund in 1990 and initially raised $15 million. The fund was managed successfully by Andrew, through Market Focus Services, until it was closed in 1994, when Andrew left London to start a family and Charles left the ECU group of companies following the sale of ECU Futures.

Charles co-founded IFX Markets, a foreign exchange market maker, in 1995 and in 2000 he initiated the reverse takeover of Zetters Group which led to the acquisition of Financial Spreads, an online financial spread betting company. He rejoined ECU in late 2005 and in February 2006 he allocated funds to an account for Andrew to manage. The returns show the composite net performance of Andrew's own account (from November 2005 to December 2006) and Charles's account (from February 2006 to November 2010).

The ECU Special Opportunities Fund and Managed Account Programme was launched in July 2011.
